Permits for Home Waste Recycling Centre

Residents of Newcastle who intend to deliver their household waste to one of our sites using any of the following vehicle types will be required to apply for a permit in advance before they are allowed access to the site:

  • Van;
  • Pick-up Truck;
  • Any vehicle towing a trailer; or
  • Any vehicle displaying company livery or logo

All successful applicants will receive a permit sheet containing from 2 to 6 non-transferable permits depending on vehicle size and ownership.  Each permit can only be used once. Permits do not have an expiry date. Residents may only re-apply for permits after twelve months.

Hire vans do not need permits. However, you must take your hire agreement and proof of Newcastle residency (e.g. a utility bill) with you and show them to the site attendant. Vehicles with hire agreements longer than 3 days will need permits.

Trade waste is not accepted. Attendants are instructed to turn away and report any vehicles suspected of trying to dispose of trade waste.

Newcastle Council will prosecute anyone disposing of trade waste at a Household Waste Recycling Centre.
